A Little Under The Weather

I'm not feeling good today. It all started last night right before Mom and Dad left me to go to dinner with friends. Dad noticed that I wasn't responding when he called my name and he immediately freaked out. He told Mom that I couldn't hear him and that my ear medicine was to blame. As you can see from this picture, I'm kind of out of it today as I lay on the daybed in Mom's beach house.

Mom tried to get my attention and I just barely opened my eyes. I don't feel good and I've had this problem with ear medicine before. An old vet that I used to go to gave me medicine that made me (temporarily) lose my hearing. The vet never mentioned the 1% chance of this happening when he prescribed it and of course I was the 1%. Mom and Dad were livid and despite me telling them that it was okay, it was all I could do to calm them down because hysteria had set in. I did regain my hearing and then we switched vets.

I can hear high pitch sounds like Mom's baby voice, but not Dad's normal voice. Mom had her baby voice going when she got my attention and then quickly snapped this picture. I told her that I had to have a decent picture to post or everypug would think I'm on my deathbed. Mom isn't going to put any medicine in my ears today and is going to call the vet first thing in the morning. I'm going to chill out with Mom and watch some football. Hopefully Mom will not be screaming at the tv because I need to sleep.

I told Mom that video of me wasn't necessary, but she insisted on it. Please ignore Mom's annoying voice and just gaze at the cuteness that is Stubby. I'm sure I'll be okay, but since I'm a sympathy magnet today I'm going to request some Popeyes. If Mom knows what's good for her, she will run out and get me some right now. If not, I will sit and pout until I get my way.

Hey stubby we are so sorry to read that you are not feeling well. Being sick is really the pits. We hope that a day of relaxing and skipping the meds will lead to a speedy recovery. Feel better buddy!

Lots of licks--

I Stubby, I hope you feel better real soon! We don't want you freaking out your mom and dad!! And I also hope your mom doesn't have to yell at the TV during the football game too much. At least the Bears got into Baltimore so there will be a game! Feel better, my furry friend!!

Hi Oakley & Swisher! I'm getting lots of treats today because Mom and Dad feel sorry for me. So far no Popeyes, but it's still early.

I think all the relaxing is helping and I hope I'm back to normal soon.

Licks right back at ya!

Hi dw! Mom and Dad freak out more and more the older I get. I keep telling them that I'm okay but they're not buying it.

We have been watching the Dolphins-Titan game and Mom has been yelling since kickoff. I'm glad I was not with her last night when she was watching her Cowboys because I heard it got ugly.

The Bears are so lucky they finally got to Baltimore. The game is going to start any minute so I need to get my game face on.

Hey Stubbs,

You don't look so happy in those first pictures. My human got very worried sounding when she was reading to me.

The baby-voice picture is much Stubbier. It made my human smile big and go awwwww.

Please feel better soon. Well, get your humans to get you some Popeyes FIRST, then feel better.

:)

Hi Deborah! I think it's the job of our parents to freak out when something happens. They love us so much and don't want anything happening to us.

I know the video was a little sad but I'm feeling better today. I told Mom the videos are not a good idea because she's not James Cameron.

Hi Tweedles! What is it with our ears? They are so cute - little buttons - but they cause us so much trouble. I'm feeling better this morning and my hearing is coming back.

Hi Puglet! I'm so sorry that I worried your human. I told Mom to skip the bad pictures and only post the cute ones but nooooo.

The baby-voice pic is much Stubbier, though I've never used Stubbier before. I like it - can I use it?

I still haven't gotten any Popeyes but it's still early. I better get some soon or else.

I think Popeye's will totally help too. Keep us posted and make sure you keep milking this for some extra hugs!

Such a sweet video of you too. You handsome guy you.

Hey Salinger! Mom called the doctor this morning. The doctor said that the medicine might be a little thick and is stuck in my ears. Great! It will eventually dissipate but for now I can't really hear.

I'm still waiting for my Popeyes and of course I'm milking this for all it's worth. Maybe I can get a pound of bacon out of Dad.

Pee-s: Loved your Christmas card!

Hi Bandit, Paisley & Smokey! Mom and Dad like this vet but not as much as a previous vet. I'm hoping to have my hearing back in time for Christmas so that I can hear Santa come down the chimney.

I'm glad you liked my video. Mom thinks I'm handsome too!

Hi Pearly Poo! How awful that your momma was sick. I hope she's feeling better and that you didn't catch whatever she had.

I'm feeling better and I'm getting my hearing back. I still haven't gotten any Popeyes and now it's snowing. Sheeesh!

Hey, Stubman.....hope yer feelin' an' hearin' better tuhday, bud.

At least ya don't have tuh wear special drawers tuh cover up yer stinkin' hind end (that'd be my sister).

Hi Hank! My hearing is slowly coming back. I'm almost back to my selective hearing that I normally have (wink, wink).

I don't really think I have a UTI but you know doctors. I'm so thankful I don't have to wear special pants because they wouldn't be very comfy.
