Reality Check!

I got back a couple of days ago but I've been super busy helping Mom with the gardening. I told her that I had to update everypug on the weekend and she finally agree to give me the morning off. Sheesh! Slave labor is alive at Stubby's house!

I had a great time with the poodles. Their parents are super cool and gave me lots of treats. While I was chillaxin' with the poodles Mom and Dad were doing their own chillaxin' on this boat. It's called "Reality Check" but the boat owner said it should be called "Write A Check". I don't get it but Mom does.

This little guy is Marley and he is the captain's dog. He's only a year old but is already a very experienced boater, or so everyone thought. He couldn't really handle the rocking of the boat so he tossed his cookies. Poor little dude. He spent most of the time in everyone's lap because his tap dancing toes prevented him from walking on the decks. I told Mom that he should have been wearing suction cup shoes but she just looked at me funny. DUH! Dogs don't belong on boats! You'd never catch me on one because I hate getting wet. And when Mom told me they cruised out six miles from shore I thought to myself (to quote so many of my friends ) "Haaaaailllll no!"

The day on the boat was fun but not as fun as the following day when Mom and Dad got to meet this guy:

Yep, that's Coco! Coco and his family met Mom and Dad in Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday. Mom couldn't get enough of Coco and wanted to bring him home. She said he was even sweeter in person than in pictures. I sure wish I could have met him but maybe next time.

Just look at Coco, his beautiful mom Sandra and soon to be sister Amelia. Mom said that Sandra has the most beautiful hair she's ever seen. This coming from a woman who hasn't had a great hairdo since the early 90s is quite a compliment.

It was super windy on Sunday but everyone agreed to pose for pics. Mom doesn't usually like to be photographed (something about the camera and 10+ pounds) but she just had to have her picture taken with Sandra and Coco.

Aren't they a lovely family? Gilbert may not be smiling on the outside but he's beaming with love for his family on the inside. Mom was really glad she got to meet them. She gave them extra hugs and kisses from me.

Mom told me I had to put this picture in here but I told her that Coco would be embarassed. Guess who won? What is it with Moms and pug butts? I mean I know we have cute butts but get over it! Okay, maybe Coco's butt is especially cute but if you're reading this Coco please know that it wasn't my idea to show the world your butt.

When I got home, Mom gave me a gift from Coco. How cool is that? My little friend Coco went shopping for little ole' me! I ripped open the package and found these cool treats and a turtle stuffie. Awesome! Thanks so much for the great gifts, Coco!

Hopefully things will get back to normal around here now that everyone is home. I'm still recovering from the weekend and despite the fact that I am forced to help with the gardening, as you can see by this picture, it's the lawn that needs help. Thankfully I'm too short to push the mower so I'll just relax in the grass where no one can find me. Ahhhh. So glad to be back home where I rule the roost!

Tell your crazy-ass mom that she is BEAUTIFUL and that whole 10 pound thing is SILLY and that she should be in EVERY pic with you (and YES...she totally does look like Julia Roberts!)

Now get back to work...I don't want the warden to bust you on the computer!

Stubbs!

Can't you have like a protest against the slave labor or something? You could be like Ghandi and go on a, uh, hunger strike?

No wait. Nevermind. Dumb idea. Sorry dude.

I'm just glad to have you back!

PS: My human says ditto what S-Dog's mom said.

Hi Stubby! It looks like your mom had a great time, and getting to visit Coco and his family was such a treat! I don't think you should have to help with the outside yard work, but being a teenager now I think it's expected. Good thing you're too short to mow the lawn!

I'm glad the Poodles turned out to be not that bad. I bet the treats sure did help. That is way cool that your Mom got to meet Coco and her paw-rents. It was nice to finally see your pretty Mom in a picture. And how nice of them to give you a gift.

Hi Lilo! We definitely need to get all our friends together for a meetup. I wish I could have gone to Miami to meet Coco but I can't fly. I'm glad Mom got to meet him because he's so cool.

I'm done helping in the garden because it's too hot out. I plan on spending the rest of the week in the house with the ac!

Hi Salinger! Mom can't stop talking about Coco. She totally loved him and now I need to meet him.

My crazy-ass mom is just that - crazy-ass. Miami did not agree with her hair and it's back to it's normal Julia Roberts/Pretty Woman ways. At least the warden is pretty, right?

Hi Pearly Poo! Coco was something else. He was a perfect gentleman and just like me had his sniffer in tune with all the smells at the restaurant. I sure wish I could go to restaurants.

Mom said that your momma can have her curls and the frizz that goes along with it. Maybe Oklahoma would be kinder to Mom's hair than Miami but I doubt it. Sandra's hair wasn't frizzy or froy but totally perfect. Maybe it's the hormones?

Hi Rachel! All of us totally need to meet. I think we need to have a pug blogger meetup somewhere in the middle of the country. I'd be up for hosting it at my place!

I don't even know how many pugs I've met because when we were in Indy last year I couldn't keep track. I'll say a few down and many more to go!

Hi Puglet! Hunger strike? Me? NEVER!

Mom tried to make me fast for Darfur last year and I ran away. You can read all about it here: http://lifeofstubby.blogspot.com/2009/05/poor-stubby.html

Hi Josie Girl! I'm so glad to be back. I missed you and of course you can play with my turtle. It's super cute and I think you'll like it.

I can't believe you go on your grandparent's boat! I might go with you but you'll have to hold my paw because I'm scared.

Hi dw! Sandra's baby is going to be just as beautiful as she is. And Coco is going to be a great big brother.

I guess you are right about me being a teenager. Mom is convinced that I should spend all day working instead of relaxing. And I thought these were my golden years!

Hi Sequoia & Tuni! It's so good to be back home. I loved my vacation but nothing is as good as your parent's bed!

What is it with pug butts? Mom said that Coco's butt was especially cute because his tail curled just right. It's a shame he can't see it because he'd love it!

Stubby said...

Hi Winston! The bum is private! What is wrong with our parents? I officially declare my butt off limits to all pugarazzi! No more butt pictures or else!

Hi Apollo! The poodles are totally cool and since I've been going there for over a year, they just let me be. I love their parents because they love me back.

Mom doesn't like to be in pictures but she agreed to be in the one with Sandra and Coco. I don't know why but there are lots of pics of Mom on that Facebook thingy.

Hi Stubby! Thank you so much for your kind words about us! We loved meeting your parents too, and we missed you so next time you should jump inside your mommy's luggage! I have a few secrets to share... first, my mom's hair is not natural. I chew on it every morning and that's what makes it look better :P. You could try that with your mom's hair although we think her curls are super cute! Another secret? Daddy doesn't smile in pictures because he has crooked teeth! Mom thinks he looks cute with his teeth but he doesn't believe her. Silly dad!
Well, I am glad you did good during the weekend. I had a lot of fun but I foresee that my life is going to be boring for a while since my mom gets more and more tired everyday. Something about having too much work and the belly getting very heavy. *sigh*
Hugs,
Coco
