Salinger Was In Da House!

When Mom told me my good pal Salinger was coming to see me on Tuesday I couldn't believe my ears. My Salinger? Salinger from Indy? Get out of town! But sure enough, Tuesday rolled around and first Karen and then Salinger and his beautiful mom Laura rolled up to our house. Yippee!

As soon as Laura saw me she scooped me up. She just loves her some Stubby! Salinger was checking out my front yard with Mom as she took this picture. I was so excited, smiling from ear to ear. I had big things planned for Salinger's visit and I couldn't wait to take him inside and show him around my house.

I told you Laura couldn't get enough of me. She knew that I had to be carried around but she took it upon herself to rock me like a baby. I loved every minute of it!

Salinger couldn't get enough of Karen. She gave him full body massages and he loved it. I thought he was going to ask to go home with her but I knew he wouldn't be able to live without his big cloud bed. Silly Salinger!

Karen wanted to hear all about my angry disc. Even though she's not a doctor she totally understood what I'm going through. She gave me a very gentle massage on my back and even talked to my right leg. She told it exactly what I've been telling it but maybe it will listen to her, you just never know.

We played in my backyard and Salinger ran around the house but soon it was time to get down to business. Lunch business. What's a Stubby to do but serve Popeyes for lunch? YUMMY!

Dad so graciously offered to get the Popeyes while we anxiously waited for his return. I couldn't stop pacing because I just knew how good it was going to be. Can you believe that Salinger had never had Popeyes? That guy just didn't know what he was missing!

I'm here to tell you that Salinger loved Popeyes. He's totally hooked and will never be the same again. He couldn't get enough of it and stood paws up on Laura to get all he could get.

Salinger even hit up Karen for some Popeyes! What you don't see in the photo is me sitting on Karen's left. Okay, I'm not sitting but laying on the floor. I can't really sit and there's absolutely no way I could stand, paws on someone's lap, like Salinger does. I so wish I could because I would probably get more food. Karen fed Salinger with her right hand and me with her left. She's the best!

We even had some watermelon because Dad made a fruit salad. Salinger ate just as much watermelon as he did Popeyes. He told me that he likes to have a balanced diet. I get it Sal!

You guys know what happens after you eat a lot - food coma! Salinger decided to just plop right down on the kitchen floor and chill out. Mom wants you to know that the nasty looking runner thingy that Salinger is laying on isn't normally on the floor. It's just there because I can't get my footing on the tile floor because of my leg and disc. I mostly walk on the runner but unfortunately it doesn't cover the entire house so I'm primarily confined to the kitchen from my bowls to the table. Not the most ideal places to be but sometimes I get brave and tip toe over to the stove where there's always something good cooking.

Salinger and I had such a great time! I didn't want him to leave but I knew he couldn't stay all day/night. I'm so glad Mom took a picture of me, Dad, Salinger, and Laura because it shows just what a great time we had. In case you're wondering, this is how I spent most of my days - in someone's arms, being carried to and fro. Ahhh, the life of Stubby!

Would you look at this silly group shot? I can hardly keep my eyes open because the Popeyes made me so sleepy, Salinger is looking for more Popeyes, and Laura is holding my brother buddy Dog! Three hot babes and 2 1/2 tired pugs!

I can't thank Salinger, Laura, and Karen enough for visiting me. I kind of overdid it when they were here which is why I'm just blogging about it now. I've been recovering from their visit since they walked out the door. Mom was so afraid that I took a couple steps back in my treatment because I could hardly walk when they left. I told her not to worry, that I just needed time to recover and that's exactly what I've been doing. I'm back to where I was Tuesday morning and am still eating leftover Popeyes!

Thank you to everyone for checking on me, both here and on FB. I had my last laser therapy treatment Tuesday morning before my guests arrived and I have to go back to the vet on Monday for a follow-up visit. The doctor will evaluate my progress then and let me know if I need additonal treatments. I'm still taking my Prednisone and everyone thinks it's a combination of that and the laser therapy that is making me better. I'm still on restricted exercise, which is okay with me, but some days I just want to go for a walk. Hopefully soon I can walk to the park and even visit my girl Josie.

DUDE! I had SO much fun hanging out with you and your peeps (and Karen!). That Popeyes was like CRACK! Mom checked the locator and there are THREE in Indy (one right near Aunt Sarah's house!!!) so she'll have to take me there!

Thank you SO much for spending the day with mom and I! We hope you rested up and didn't overdo it with your leggy! If you need some "baby carrying therapy" just tell your mom and dad to schlep you on down to TheLazyK Ranch and mom will be glad to rock you in her arms for as long as you'd like!

Tell your dad he makes the BEST fruit salad! It was perfect with that crackalicious chicken!

Ok, you rest and take it easy dude!

Love,
Your buddy, S-Dog

Hi Stubby
That must have been so awsome to have Salinger, his mom and Karen come to visit you!
You deserve to be rocked like a baby and I could see everyone just loves you.
I have never had popeyes chicken either, but know it must be lip smackin good.
Thank you for sharing the love with us- (all the photos of all of you.)
I hope you recoop soon and get rested up.
Another puggie uses to live here before me, and she had a wheel chair- so she could walk.
Moms would go down the country road with her, and she could look for crumbs again on the floor- the rest of the time, she enjoyed being packed around in the arms of my moms.
I was thinking of you and thought how fast you could go in one of those wheel chairs.
Nitey nite my friend

Hi Tuni! I couldn't believe how much fun we all had. It was a magical day and I'm so glad I was able to get around a little.

I can't believe you lose your footing all the time. I'm still wiping out on a regular basis but unforunately, I can't always get right back up. It's still hard for me to right myself up so Mom helps me.

You and I would make quite a team. Both of us would lay under the table while all the other puggies do all the begging.

Hi Yoda & Brutus! Some days I feel good and then others I don't. I think my elbow is getting better but my angry disc is still angry. Eating Popeyes took my mind off my pain plus having my friends over was so exciting.

Hi Hank! No secret here dude. Just tell the pugs and peeps that you're serving Popeyes and BAM! Everyone wants to come over.

Please tell O'Mally that she should make the video. She can channel her inner Jane Fonda!

Salinger dude! I had the best time hanging out with you. You totally have to come back and stay with me. Tell your peeps that the door is always open no matter when you want to stay.

I'm trying to talk my peeps into taking me to Indy in September. I don't know when that is but it's coming up. I don't know if we'll stay at the Lazy K but we will hook up.

I'm so glad you have Popeyes close to you. Tell Aunt Sarah to bring some to you next time she comes over.

Hi Tweedles! Next time I have a Popeyes party you're coming. You can jump in your magic bubble and fly here. We will have the best time and I guarantee you'll love Popeyes!

Someone else mention a wheel chair. I know I could totally go fast in one but since my elbow is still not 100% I can't put a lot of weight on it so a wheel chair might not work. I'm going to continue with whatever the vet tells me to do because I really want to walk, run, and play. What's a Stubby to do but chase Tweedles through the forest?

Hi Izzy, Anakin & Josie Girl! That Salinger is the best, isn't he? He loved Popeyes and he loved hanging out at my house.

I can't wait to get together with you guys. Hopefully we can do something as soon as I'm feeling better.

Hi Zoey & Phoebe! You guys are so smart! What a great idea! I think I'm going go have to do just that and you guys will be the first ones invited. I know you like Popeyes, right?

Hi Wilma! I've never inspired someone and broken their heart at the same time. I hope I'm not breaking your heart because of my condition because I'm doing okay, really.

I smile a lot. It's just who I am. I'm a very happy guy despite my limitations. I try not to let things get me down. I focus on what I have instead of focusing on what I don't have. And I have lots, believe me.

Zoey & Phoebe had a great idea. I will a different friend over every day and get Popeyes for them. Isn't that smart? I know you'll love Popeyes because you have a very sophisticated palate!
