First I have to tell you that Dr. Chung tried to convince me that Dasuquin was a new treat that I would love, but I wasn't buying it. I know what treats smell like and this thing was mediciney. Pooey! One lick and I turned my cute pug nose up in the air and asked where the Popeyes was. I know that eating these mediciney things will help me walk better but why can't they make them Popeyes flavored?
Okay, so back to my visit. The first thing the vet tech did when I arrived was weigh me - on a cat scale. Why I wasn't weighed on a normal dog scale I have no idea. Mom thinks the scale was a little off because it said I weigh 16.3 lbs. OMD! The last time I was on the scale it read 19.1 lbs. That was back in December so I've lost almost 3 lbs. without even trying. That's not good.
Dr. Chung was so excited about my weight loss saying over and over again how great I looked. She was also concerned that I haven't been dieting to lose weight. She asked Mom if she could take my blood just to make sure that I'm okay. Mom said yes of course before I could say no.
Mom also asked about my cooties. The only one that Dr. Chung was a little worried about was my arm cootie. She took a real good look at it, scratched it and then remarked that it was raised. She mentioned something about melanoma and said that dogs get it just like people do. I immediately thought of my good pal Salinger when she mentioned melanoma because that guy is constantly tanning. His belly is as black as tar and I don't think he wears sunscreen. Dr. Chung's advice was to watch the cootie and call if it changes.
I couldn't wait to get home because Mom said she'd give me a real treat. I was very tired after my treat but I had to help Mom with some planting. She is trying to get everything in the ground before she leaves for her trip.
When Dr. Chung asked about the Tramadol Mom told her that I refuse to take it. Dr. Chung said to put it in butter. What? Butter? Are you kidding me? Mom just shook her head and asked if there was something else she could prescribe so now I have a sample of little Tramadols that are supposedly beef flavored. We'll see if I take one tomorrow morning but I wouldn't bet the house on it. Beef flavored or not, it's still medicine and I hate it.

I am hoping the butter trick works if your mom does decide to try it with those medicines. I know I hate medicines too.
Did you get some popeyes?
I hope you got something nummy.
I know your lookin good Stubby but we might need to pack some extra pounds on you- with some thing, mummmmmmm how about Marshmellows?
I hope the cooties just stay sleeping and do not bother you.
And I hopes your blood tests are good too.. Did you get a little band aid for your boo boo?
Oh Stubby, I am going to dream of you tonight. We will be snugglinh on a cloud where the bubbles are bouncing around our heads,

tweedles
Thank you so much for all those details. It sounds like your visit with Dr. C is a paw up, pretty good news for the most part. We are going to keep our feets and paws crossed that the cooties are nothing. If you decide to poopy in the house you are suppose to hurry and eat it. Then poof, no evidence.
Tootles,
Benny & Lily
Stubby!!
I am glad you are doing better!!
I'm sure your Mommy will make sures yous gets lots of nice Noms for your Tums!!
loves,
Josie
Oh Stubby! I'm sorry to hear about the sorta bad news. Tell your Mom that she needs to buy you the Zukes peanut butter glucosamine and chondrotin treats. And/or the Ark Naturals Venison glucosamine and chondrotin strip treats. I LOVE both, and they keep my joints young enough to do really athletic things. They don't have any wheat, corn, or soy; and are made with real ingredients - so I can't tell they are sorta medicine! Did your Mom try the Combos thing for the meds? Cutting them in pieces and sticking them inside with the cheese truly masks the smell, and the crunchy cracker hides the crunch of the pill. You just have to make sure to get the original - cause I think the pretzel is nasty. Has your Mom tried supplementing your diet with Ziwi Peak? It comes in canned or a dehydrated raw form. It is super healthy and puts on healthy muscle weight. I love the venison...but the tripe and lamb are good too. My Mommy said she'll send you a little sample of all of this if you and your Mom would like to try it all. I'm a picky Pug too, but luckily we have a friend who owns a holistic dog bakery; and she lets me try EVERYTHING. I hope your blood tests turn out okay and that the arm cootie stays the same.
Dude!! Get your cute self to Popeyes STAT!!! I'll bet if you call them on the pugphone, they'll even deliver!!!!
We're hopeful that your arm cootie is just a cootie and nothing serious.
Ugh crap...now mom's all flipped out about me sunbathing. If she starts chasing me around with sunscreen...you're going to be hearing from ME, dude!!!!!
Tell your mom she looks beautiful as always and she totally needs to enter a Julia Roberts look alike contest because it's freaking her out how they look like TWINS!
Love,
S-Dog
Stubby, honey, we need to get you some Popeye's STAT!!! I weigh more than you do!!! When I went in for my dental, I was at 20 pounds and Dr. K said that was good. The girls would definitely think you're to skinny!!! Maybe you the daddy can share some fattening treats while the momma is gone!! She'll never know!!
~Hugs~
Lilo
Aww, Stubby! I'd sure like to give your sweet momma a hug. It is so hard when they worry about us, ya know?
I think you look GREAT and should get Popeye's every day. But, I'm not a vet. You take your medicines, ok? We'll keep a close eye on your cooties and everything will be FINE!!
xo
Pearly Girl
Stubby sorry you got weighed on the cat scale...I got weighed on it too at the ER vets...how embarassing huh. Don't feel bad abouts being skinny, I too have lost almost 2 lbs and Im just under 10lbs now. We hope you cootied doesn't grow eithers. And you do look extra super cutes in that pictures!
Tuni aka Old Lady
Hi Tweedles! Thanks for your sweet words. I know we are family and how lucky I am to be part of it. We help each other out, say prayers when needed, cry with each other, laugh with each other, and we are always there for each other.
Mom didn't try the butter trick because the cheese worked this morning. And I didn't get any Popeyes but I got some watermelon - yummy!
I didn't even get a band-aid on my boo-boo because I'm a big boy. I told the doctor to tell my cooties to stay sleeping and hopefully they will.
How exciting that we were snuggling on a cloud with the bubbles bouncing around our heads! We always have so much fun together, don't we Tweedles?
Thank you for being such a great friend. I love you so much!
Stubby xoxo
Hi Benny & Lily! Thanks for keeping your feet and paws crossed. I think the doctor called a little while ago and talked to Dad. Dad hasn't told me what the doctor said yet so stay tuned.
You guys are so smart! I should have eaten the poop and then no one would have known. Duh! Maybe I need to be more like a Frenchie, huh?
Stubby xoxo
Hi Josie Girl! I told the doctor that maybe I was losing weight because I'm love sick. She didn't buy it.
I miss you my Josie Girl and I can't wait until your brother is well enough to have visitors!
Stubby xoxo
Hi Apollo! I need to move in with you because your mom gives you all the right things. Sheesh! My mom must look like a slacker when it comes to my health and well being but she's really not. Mom would love it if your mom could send her a sample of the stuff you take. Rumor has it your mom is going to see my mom soon. I don't know anything about it but it's a rumor that's been floating around the house.
Mom tried to Combos but she tried the pretzel and not the original. I'll have her buy the original and we'll see what happens. Cheese worked this morning but you just never know with me.
Thanks for all the great info! I'm going to have Mom look into it.
Stubby xoxo
Hi Salinger! I didn't get any Popeyes last night but with Mom leaving town I'm sure there's some in my near future. I don't know if they'll deliver but if they will I'll order some for you too.
Sorry about the sunscreen dude but I don't want you to get the melanoma. Last time I saw you your belly was practically black. You aren't going to be young forever and you need to start taking care of yourself. If your mom comes running after you with sunscreen it's because she loves you.
Stubby xoxo
Hi Lilo! I'm still waiting for my Popeyes. I don't know what I have to do it get some but hopefully it's coming soon.
I can't believe I weigh less than you. I told Mom months ago that I was getting too skinny but I think she secretly wants me skinny. Why I don't know, but I think she thinks it will make me live longer.
Stubby xoxo
Hi Pearly Poo! My mom sure could use a hug from you so I'll pass one along. I tell her not to worry about me but you know moms. Worrying is what they do best.
I think I should get Popeyes every day too! I'm thinking about calling them and telling them to deliver some whenever Mom isn't home. I will eat it all and she'll never even know about it.
I promise to take my medicine and to watch my cooties just for you. Thank you for being such a good friend, Pearly!
Stubby xoxo
Hi Tuni! You and I need to hang out! We are both old, getting skinny, and looking super cute!
I can't believe you lost 2 pounds too! Are you okay? I know you are petite but under 10 pounds is super petite. I know your mom takes great care of you and that whatever care you need you get. We're lucky to have such great moms.
I was a little embarassed when I got weighed on the cat scale but luckily no one was around. I kept telling the vet tech that I wanted to be weighed on the regular dog scale but I think he was new and didn't speak pug. Oh well, I tried.
Stubby xoxo
Hi Stubby,I hope everything turns out okay! Can't believe you lost weight, dude! I think with your mom going out of town that Popeyes will definitely be in your future -- your dad seems like a real softie!
Hiya Stubby! Wow are we glad you posted this. Poor Rini has to gain weight and we've got some work cut out for us indeed! Momma is going to look up that supplement and see about getting her on it STAT!
Love,
Stella, Gunther and Betty
Hi dw! You are so right about my dad. He can't wait until Mom leaves town because we are going to party like rockstars! Popeyes one day, french fries the next, and then maybe some burgers. Yummy! By the time Mom gets back I'll be pleasingly plump!
Stubby xoxo
Hi Stella, Gunther & Betty! Too bad you can't ship Rini here for a few weeks because Camp Stubby is the place to be if you want to gain weight. The only problem I see is that she won't want to go home after living here because she'll be addicted to eating. I'm just saying.
Stubby xoxo
Stubman! Come on over fer some wings an' PBR. That'll fatten ya up! I mean, look at me!
An' you give that mom o' yers extra hugs an' kisses tuhnight. Got it bud?
Hi Hank! I love wings and PBR! I'll be right over because you are so right - I need fattening up!
I hugged Mom all last night because she was a little worried about me. I told her that I was okay but you know moms.
Stubby xoxo
hi stubby!
i love the pics of you and your mom!
emmitt says for some reason he has occasional little indoor accidents now too that he is a senior.
he cannot explain it either but nothing to worry about. :)
i wonder if that scale was 100% accurate. :)
we know your mom is going to have a great trip!
we love you!
